Animal escapes are an uncommon but inevitable aspect of keeping animals in captivity. For keepers of exotic animal species, managing and coordinating a rescue and retrieval operation can be a daunting task. It can be difficult to know where to go to get help.

That's where we come in. That's what drives our work, and that's why – as long as there are animals in captivity – we will fight to ensure the vital services keepers of such animals need are provided.

We believe that by providing the right support systems for keepers of exotic animal species, the risks associated with keeping these animals in captivity can be effectively managed and reduced, all that’s needed is the right kind of support, delivered by people that care.

What We Do

BeastWatch UK is a not-for-profit, voluntary association that provides a rescue and retrieval service for exotic animal keepers.  If you are a college, children's zoo, animal encounter business or private keeper with a missing animal, then our network of volunteers are here to help!

How iT WORKS

As we receive a potential sighting or official report of a lost exotic, we'll search our map of members to find the Regional Coordinators for that area, they will then contact all the Active Members within their region to organise a search and rescue party, should that need arise. Our Monitors scour the news media for reports relevant to the cause, reporting their findings back to their respective regional co-ordinator. Our Fundraising Team Members help raise the funds that make it all possible.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We are seeking self-motivated, action driven individuals with a passion for animals and nature and with an ability to dedicate at least one hour a week to assist us in our cause.

There are several positions available:
